Day 1 – Departing from Rochester and traveling east into Massachusetts and on to Connecticut you will arrive
in Harford in mid-afternoon. Stop and smell the roses at Elizabeth Park Conservancy Rose Garden where
the heritage roses bloom once in early June. Continuing on to Middletown to check-in the "Best Kept
Secret" Middletown Inn for 3 nights. Dinner will be at the historic hotel this evening.

Day 2 – Following breakfast you will depart for a narrated cruise to the Thimble Islands another
archipelago upon which Captain Kidd is said to have buried treasure in 1699! Admission to the Connecticut
River Museum follows the cruise. The museum tells the story of the Connecticut River and its people.
Galleries include paintings, navigation tools, river industries and yachting. In the afternoon you will visit
Gillette Castle designed for William H. Gillette, famous for his role of Sherlock Holmes. Learn about the
eccentric man who had a train track installed around his property, and secret passages built into his 24-room
home! Dinner tonight will be at the Griswold Inn, one of oldest operating inns in the Country, the Griswold
Inn located in Essex.

Day 3 – After breakfast you will board the motor coach and travel to Hartford. Visit the Cathedral of St.
Joseph followed by a tour of the homes of Mark Twain and Harriett Beecher Stowe. The Twain site
features an introductory video by Ken Burns, permanent and special exhibits and a museum store. The
Harriett Beecher Stow Center was the home of the author of Uncle Tom's Cabin and includes period style
rooms, historical works and learn of her commitment of social justice and change. Following a sandwich
luncheon buffet at the Mark Twain Center you will return to the Middletown Inn to enjoy the hotel amenities.
Dinner tonight will be at the quaint and lovely Geltson House in East Haddam overlooking the Connecticut
River. A live performance at the historic Goodspeed Opera House, the only musical theatre to receive two
special Tony awards for its outstanding achievements.

Day 4 – Today, following breakfast check-out of the Middletown Inn and travel to nearby Windsor Locks.
A guided tour of the New England Air Museum will tell the story of aviation technology and the genius of
the men and women that made it possible. The remainder of the day will be spent traveling home to
Rochester, New York. This trip promises to create new travel memories!

DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT - A $150.00 per person deposit must accompany your reservation. This includes a $25.00 per person non-refundable processing fee in the event of cancellation. Final payment is due FRIDAY, APRIL 26, 2019

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY - A full refund will be given (less the non-refundable processing fee) for cancellations received prior to the final payment date. Cancellations received after the final payment date will be subject to the following penalties:

Up to 45 days prior to departure...........................Processing fee
44 - 30 days prior to departure.........................25% of the trip total
29 - 21 days prior to departure.........................50% of the trip total
20 - 8 days prior to departure.......................... 75% of the trip total
7 days - day of departure or no show...............................No refund

INSURANCE - Purchase of travel insurance for cancellation/interruption is not required, but is highly recommended to protect your travel investment, and is available at an additional cost. Should you wish to receive an insurance form application, please contact the DayTours office.
