(Breakfast & Dinner)

Day 3 -  After breakfast, meet your local guide and depart for another day of touring.  Your destination is the Champlain Islands area nestled between Adirondack Mountains of New York and the Green Mountains of Vermont and surrounded by the water of Lake Champlain.  Accessible by three bridges the islands provide a uniquely peaceful and artful way of life.  Stop at Hero’s Welcome, founded in 1788 by the Revolutionary War hero’s from Ethan and Ira Allen’s famed Green Mountain Boys.  Time to visit the main store housed in the original structure carrying everything from gadgets, to baked goods to the post office!  Stop at the landmark honoring Samuel de Champlain located on the site of Fort St. Anne and tour St. Anne’s Shrine in Isle La Motte and it’s open-sided Victorian Chapel .  Lunch today will be at the historic North Hero House Restaurant that first opened in 1891. Afternoon stops include the Grand Isle Art Works featuring the works of 75 Vermont artisans, wine tasting at Snow Farm Vineyard and a unique tour with gardener Harry Barber to see his amazing stone castles and his colorful birdhouse in “Birdhouse Forest”!   At a local, landmark farm the owners will treat you with a Vermont Fall Harvest Dinner in the Pavilion followed by some local entertainment!  (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner)
